About

Third-party documents deserve a proper home.

Credbase exists because supplier, subcontractor, vendor and partner documents almost always live somewhere they should not: an inbox, a shared drive or a spreadsheet. We are building the calm middle layer that keeps them on record, current and ready to share.

Why we built Credbase

Every operations, compliance and account team we have worked with has the same story. Someone asks for proof, and the team spends the rest of the day searching inboxes, chasing suppliers and stitching a pack together. It should not be that hard.

We wanted a product that felt like the calm middle layer between storage and email: structured enough to trust, light enough to actually use every week. So we built one, opinions and all.

What we care about
  • Calm software
No dashboards for the sake of it. Every screen answers a question.
  • Clarity over cleverness
Plain English, honest limits, no fake urgency.
  • Trust as a feature
Private by default, humans in the loop, no data sold onward.

Ben NixonFounder & CEO

Before Credbase, Ben was Sales Director at one of the UK's fastest-growing fintechs, where he scaled the business from zero to more than £6M ARR before it was acquired by private equity. It was a proper commercial ride, and behind every closed deal sat the same quiet problem.

Every new client, every renewal, every partner integration triggered the same scramble for third-party paperwork. Insurance certificates, ISO documents, security questionnaires, DPAs, right to work checks. The operations, compliance and account teams held it together with inboxes, shared drives and spreadsheets that nobody outside the team ever saw. When someone senior asked for proof, the rest of the day disappeared into reconstructing it.

Credbase is the product Ben wished that team had had. Narrow on purpose, calm by design and built specifically for the middle layer between an inbox and an audit. On record. Up to date. Ready to share.

How we got here

It started as a scramble we watched too many times.

Before Credbase, we sat with operations, compliance and account teams who were quietly heroic. They kept suppliers on record, chased documents, packaged evidence and made the business look ready. They did it in inboxes, drives and spreadsheets nobody outside their team ever saw.

The pattern was the same everywhere. Someone senior would ask for proof and the team would drop what they were doing to reconstruct it. The work was real. The tools were not built for it.

So we set out to build the thing that should have existed all along. Small enough to trust on a Tuesday morning. Structured enough to answer a client on a Friday afternoon.

How we are different

Not a drive. Not a CRM. Not a compliance suite.

Credbase is a narrow product on purpose. We do the third-party document job properly and leave the rest to the tools you already have. Here is how that sits next to the stack most teams inherit.

Job to do
Knowing what you hold
Files scattered across inboxes and folders, named however the sender felt.
Every document sits against the company it belongs to, with type and expiry captured.
Job to do
Knowing what is current
A spreadsheet someone updated last quarter and hopes is still right.
Credbase watches every expiry and surfaces what needs attention this week.
Job to do
Chasing what is missing
A new email thread each time, written from scratch, easy to lose.
One collection link per company, polite reminders on your schedule.
Job to do
Answering a proof request
An hour of digging, zipping and hoping nothing has lapsed.
Tick the documents that belong. Credbase builds the pack and the share link.
Job to do
Proving what happened
Reconstruct the story from email search and folder timestamps.
A clean audit trail of who requested, uploaded, reviewed and shared.

Credbase is not a replacement for your drive. It is the layer above it that knows what each file is, when it expires and who last touched it.
