Full definition

SIA licence is defined as: An SIA licence is the individual authorisation issued by the UK Security Industry Authority that lets someone lawfully carry out licensable security work such as door supervision, guarding or close protection.

The licence is a photo card carried by the individual, with a specific expiry date and role. Working in a licensable role without a valid SIA licence is a criminal offence.

For any security supplier, collect the licence numbers of the individuals on your site and verify them against the SIA's public register. Track expiry dates the same way you track insurance.
